ITINERARY
Mar 12 (Fri) Washington, DC or Chicago to San Francisco
Mar 13 (Sat) San Francisco/Singapore
Singapore Airlines flight departs overnight from 12 Mar.
Mar 14 (Sun) Arrive in Singapore
Arrive in Singapore. Welcomed by our local representative at airport, you will be escorted to hotel for check-in. In the evening, Board a bumboat at The Fullerton for a ride along the Singapore River to Clarke Quay, where you will enjoy a Chili Crab dinner by the River. Enroute to the world’s largest fountain, take in the beautiful sight of the central business district via Benjamin Sheares Bridge. Next, advance to Bugis Street or other night bazaars during festive period, where our guide will take you for a stroll at the night market or ‘pasar malam’ where you may chance upon bargains you never imagine. Our last stop for the evening is at Raffles Hotel for a taste of Singapore’s very own concoction, ‘the Singapore Sling’. As the saying goes, ‘If you have not been to Raffles, you have not been to Singapore’. (D)
Mar 15 (Mon) Singapore
An orientation tour that begins with a drive around the Civic District past the Padang, Cricket Club, historic Parliament House, Supreme Court and City Hall. Stop at the Merlion Park for great views of Marina Bay and a picture-taking opportunity with The Merlion, a mythological creature that is part lion and part fish. Visit Thian Hock Keng Temple, one of Singapore’s oldest Buddhist-Taoist temples, before driving past Chinatown to watch craftsmen at work at a local Handicraft Center. Our final stop at Little India will entrance you with the scent of joss sticks, jasmine and spices. (AB)
Mar 16 (Tue) Singapore
Join us on a colorful journey into the history, lifestyle and unique character of the Peranakan Babas (the men) and Nonyas (the women). A walk through a Spice Garden, which sits on the original site of the first Botanic Gardens and uncovers the intricacies of spices and herbs that go into Peranakan cooking. A fascinating display of Peranakan costume, embroidery, beadwork, jewellery, porcelain, furniture, and craftwork provides insight into the captivating culture of the Peranakans. Wonder through the bustling enclaves of Katong & Joo Chiat that showcase the rich and baroque Peranakan architecture. Admire rows of colorful traditional shop houses that date back to the 1920s and 1930s. A sampling of Nonya Delicacies completes the tour. (AB)

Transfer to airport for our flight to Bali. Upon arrival, transfer to hotel for check-in. (AB)
Mar 18 (Thu) Bali
We begin our sightseeing experience in Bali with a full day tour covering the countryside of Bali. First, enjoy a traditional Balinese Barong and Kris Dance at the Batubulan Village. Then, drive through the scenic countryside to Celuk, the silversmith capital of Bali with its mile long street, lined with silver jewelry factories and shops. Stop at Mas, a village specializing in woodcarvings. Continue to Ubud, famous for its painter’s community. After lunch, visit the historic Goa Gajah (Elephant Cave) and Holy Spring at Tampak Siring before returning to our hotel. (AB/L)

Mar 20 (Sat) Bali
A free day for further exploration or relaxation. Tonight, join us for a farewell dinner with Balinese Performance at the hotel’s Cultural Theatre. (AB/D)
Mar 21 (Sun) Bali/hometown
Transfer to airport for our flight home. (AB)
